FOUNDER RESIDENCIES
Open to women who want to launch their handicraft brands from India
New Delhi is a vibrant hub of culture and entrepreneurship. During our residency months, temperatures range from 25°C to 34°C (75°F to 92°F) under sunny skies.
The city’s international airport ensures convenient travel for women arriving from almost anywhere in the world.
While with us, you’ll have the chance to learn about handicrafts, connect with skilled artisans, visit ancient monuments and markets, and live in a community of purpose-driven women.
-
Our residency program is USD 6500 for two weeks.
-
Two Roads Studio is in Central Delhi (downtown). You’ll be staying in South Delhi, about a 30 minute drive away, in a residential neighbourhood. Transport to and from the studio will be arranged in a chauffeur-driven car.
You will be assigned a comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom, a wardrobe, a desk and a small fridge.
-
Breakfast is laid out every morning with choice of fruits, stuffed flatbreads (locally known as paratha), freshly pressed juice, tea and coffee.
Packed lunch is provided at the studio- sandwich, pasta, pulao or beans and rice.
Dinner is a slow-cooked three course meal, mildly spiced with seasonal vegetables.
Note: All meals are vegetarian. If you’re vegan or have certain allergies, we can make arrangements.
-
The residency is facilitated by Indian sister duo Sristy & Saumya.
Their work spans entrepreneurship, culture and community building. Their projects include Delhi Poetry Slam (India’s largest writing network), retreats in Goa & Jaipur, and publication of award-winning books.
Saumya & Sristy were featured on Germany’s ARD television show “Dilli Dilli” hosted by Markus Spieker.
Two Roads Studio is their brainchild, developing a sisterhood of 5,000 female founders committed to profit with purpose.
Their love for handmade
Having travelled and lived through rural India for eight years, you’ll now find them in Delhi.
-
At the end of the residency, participants present their business plan at the Showcase. This event will be open to public.
We create space for real-time feedback and evaluate market potential.
“During the ramp-up phase of first 37 months, owners selling handmade products typically make a profit of $80,000 to earning over $12 million dollars by Year 5 in high-growth scenarios.”
Turn your idea into a brand
Generational skills and craftsmanship of handmade work has positioned it in the luxury segment.
Growing demand has led to new businesses are cropping up in fashion, jewellery, art, home décor, perfume, incense, ceramics and metal.
We give you hands-on exposure to a wide range of Indian handicrafts.
Over the course of the residency, you’ll build a practical business plan and present it at the final showcase.
Learn by doing. In action.
Building a brand takes more than ideas. It takes people power to execute.
The Two Roads way is about getting your feet dirty in the real world.
We don’t do remote. No video meetings or confusing PDFs.

Does this sound like you?
▶ You have strong creative ideas but turning that into a real business feels unclear.
▶ The idea of travelling India alone (without guarantee of results) feels overwhelming and risky.
▶ You want to learn from experts. Most people end up wasting time, making expensive mistakes, or never moving past the idea stage.
▶ Deep down, you know that your business has the potential to make 5-6 figures. You just need a proven system to make it happen.
✨ If you’re nodding along, you’re in the right place.
Business. Culture. Sisterhood. All in one journey.

Two weeks of being in India beats months of online research.
Being physically present helps you understand processes, bridge language gaps, and build lasting relationships with the local community.
Get into business faster and start selling sooner.
You might be wondering…
-
Yes. The residency is designed for those who are still exploring. It focuses on exposing you to different handicraft industries and giving you real, on-ground understanding. You will visit workshops and engage with communities of local workers, weavers, artisans, and craft clusters.
You will also learn about export–import laws, sourcing, cutting, stitching, labels, tags, and packaging.
The idea is to help you experience the ecosystem first — from carpet making and wood carving to textiles — so you can then decide what kind of business you want to build during the residency.
-
Absolutely. There is no age limit to starting a business. We welcome women in their 50s and beyond who feel called to build something meaningful.
An ethical brand doesn’t just serve your clients—it shapes you too. It brings purpose, growth, and a renewed sense of possibility at any stage of life.
-
No — this residency is specifically for makers of handmade, physical products rooted in craft and materials. It’s designed for founders building ethical, artisanal brands — for example those centered on handcrafted textiles, embroidery, weaving and slow fashion, rather than service practices.
-
You will gain a complete understanding of how to launch your business — from designing your logo and creating your website to selling your products effectively on social media. Think of it as an intensive, all‑in‑one crash course for getting your brand off the ground.
-
Of course! You are in a new country. You will get to sightsee with the group, take photos for your Instagram, try Indian meals, and be exposed to the culture during the residency. We want this to be a learning experience while being extremely fun.
